An Inline Single Column Tie can be tied anywhere on the rope, not just on the bight of a doubled rope, as is the case for the Single Column Tie on a Bight.
An Inline Single Column Tie can be loaded on either the standing or the open part of the rope, or both, and can be untied from either end.
Its disadvantages are that it is more difficult to tie, and it needs a bit more rope to tie, compared to a Single Column Tie on a Bight.
This variation on the Inline Single Column Tie has the advantage that it does not give back (as much) extra rope on the standing part when it is tightened, because the twisting action when tightening the knot will consume that extra rope inside the knot, instead of returning that length of rope to the standing part of the rope.
The Inline Double Column Tie is simply the Inline Single Column Tie, with a small change similar to how we modified the Single Column Tie on a Bight to create a Double Column Tie on a Bight.
